Grizzlies make history by sinking Spurs

The Memphis Grizzlies booked their place in the NBA Western Conference semi-finals as a 99-91 win over San Antonio Spurs sealed a 4-2 series win.
The Grizzlies, who had lost all 12 of their previous postseason games prior to this series, were indebted to 16 fourth-quarter points from Zach Randolph in an overall haul of 31.
They became just the second eighth-seeded side to upset a top seed since the first round changed to the best-of-seven format in 2003, and will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the semis.
Marc Gasol added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies while Tony Parker top-scored for the Spurs with 23.

NBA: Shaquille O'Neal set to miss Game 3,because of a calf injury

The Boston Celtics will be without center Shaquille O'Neal for a third straight playoff game because of a calf injury.

O'Neal is struggling to be fit to face the New York Knicks on Friday.

"He is going to try to do some things (Thursday) and we'll see," Rivers said. "He's had some improvement, but I don't know how much," coach Doc Rivers was quoted as saying on NBA.com.

The same calf injury also ruled O'Neal out of Boston's last six regular-season games. The veteran center had previously missed 27 straight games with a sore right leg before sustaining the troublesome calf injury in his first game back.

However, Rivers expects O'Neal to play a part in Game 4 in New York this Sunday.

"If he goes on the trip that means we think he'll play that Sunday," Rivers said.

The Celtics won the first two games of the series in Boston with Jermaine O'Neal starting both games at center.
