Snetterton (England) : Heavy rains in the afternoon scuttled Armaan Ebrahim's Formula 2 pre-season testing programme here Wednesday, but still managed a top-10 time of one minute, 56.489 seconds in the final session.

The 21-year-old from Chennai, who was sixth quickest in the first pre-season testing at Silverstone last week, was hoping to run the day's last session on new tyres in a bid to move up the time chart, but rains dashed his hopes.

"Our plans went a bit haywire due to the rain. We had planned on just running with old tyres in both the morning sessions and experiment on different Chassis set up before switching tonew tyres in the afternoon and go for a quick time," said Armaan, who is into his third F2 season.

"The morning session went as per plan, but it started to rain heavily in the afternoon and we could not get to use the new tyres. Others had already used their new tyres in the morning session and had set faster times.

"We will now work on the data in preparation for the first round at Silverstone next month (April 15-17)."

Meanwhile, the other Indian in the fray, 31-year old Parthiva Sureshwaren, showed good pace through the day, but faded away in wet conditions.(IANS)
